In a tragic event that unfolded in north Phoenix, Arizona, 16-year-old Anastasia 'Ana' Greer, a White/Caucasian female, lost her life on March 7, 2014. The incident, which took place at a friend's home, was determined by authorities to be a murder-suicide. Greer was a sophomore at Sandra Day O'Connor High School, as was the individual identified as the perpetrator.
The sequence of events began to unfold around noon when a neighbor reported hearing a scream followed by gunshots.
Upon investigating, the neighbor discovered Greer with gunshot wounds to her chest and 15-year-old Matthew Bolton with a gunshot wound to his face in the front yard of the residence. Both teenagers were found deceased when police arrived at the scene. Phoenix police reported that it appeared Bolton shot Greer before turning the gun on himself.
