In the fall of 2014, the life of 41-year-old Charlie 'Chuck' Bencomo, a Hispanic male, was tragically cut short in Tucson, Arizona. On the evening of Friday, October 3rd, events unfolded that led to his untimely death, leaving behind a grieving family and a community seeking answers.
The Tucson Police Department was called to the scene in the 5400 block of South Liberty Avenue, where they discovered a man with gunshot wounds. This man was later identified as Charlie Bencomo.
He was immediately transported to a local hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Bencomo succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Investigators from the Tucson Police Department's homicide unit began to piece together the events of that fatal night. Their inquiries led them to identify a person of interest in the case. The investigation pointed towards an altercation that had occurred between Bencomo and another individual prior to the shooting.
