Malcolm Nicholas III, a promising 19-year-old basketball player, was tragically killed on November 12, 2017, in Miami's Overtown neighborhood. Malcolm was walking near Northwest Fifth Avenue and 17th Street when he was fatally shot. At the time of his death, he was a highly regarded basketball talent, being recruited by Division 1 colleges, and had returned to Miami for a family birthday when he was murdered.
