Thomas Quass, a 41-year-old male from Miami, Florida, was tragically shot and killed in the Wynwood neighborhood on July 4, 2015. According to reports, Quass was walking to his car with his girlfriend in the early hours of the morning when they were confronted by an unidentified gunman. The incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. on Northwest 26th Street. Witnesses stated that words were exchanged between Quass and the suspect before the gunman fired, fatally wounding him.
Quass was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities launched an investigation into the shooting, seeking information from the public to identify the perpetrator. The suspect fled the scene in a waiting gray Hyundai Veloster, believed to be a model from 2013 to 2015. Miami Police urged anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward and contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers. He had previously worked in AT&T’s consumer department, where colleagues recalled his ability to bring laughter and positivity to the workplace. His sudden and violent death left loved ones grieving and searching for answers.
