On that fateful day, deputies
from the Pima County Sheriff's Department responded to a report of shots fired at the office building. Upon arrival, they discovered a harrowing scene. An 11-year-old child was found in the lobby with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Inside an office, authorities found Nadia and a man, both deceased.
Investigations by the Pima County Sheriff's officials revealed the incident to be a murder-suicide. The man was identified as 42-year-old Emmanuel Vergara. According to authorities, Emmanuel Vergara entered the office building and fatally shot Nadia before taking his own life. The injured child was also shot by Vergara. At the time of the initial reports, the relationship between Nadia and Emmanuel was not immediately released by law enforcement.
