In the early hours of February 26, 2020, a young Hispanic man, 20-year-old Uel A. Aguilar, also known as Manuel A. Aguilar, was fatally shot in Tucson, Arizona. The incident unfolded shortly after 2:30 a.m. at an apartment complex located at 6280 S. Campbell Ave. Tucson Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered two men in the parking lot with apparent gunshot wounds. Uel A.
Aguilar was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second man was transported to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. A third male victim, who had also sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, later arrived at Tucson Medical Center.
Investigators believe the shooting was not a random act of violence. It is thought that an argument occurred between the men before the fatal shots were fired.
