In the late evening hours of Monday, May 31, 2021, the life of 43-year-old Jonathan Lee Licano was tragically cut short in his hometown of Miami, Arizona. Licano, a male, was discovered deceased around 9:22 p.m. in the downtown area, situated behind the Appliance Mart at the intersection of Adonis Avenue and Live Oak. The cause of his untimely death was determined to be a fatal gunshot wound.
The Miami Police Department, with assistance from several other law enforcement agencies, including the Globe Police Department and the Gila County Sheriff's Office, promptly launched a homicide investigation into the shooting.
The investigation led to the arrest of 20-year-old Adin Gilmore of Miami, who was subsequently booked into the Gila County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder. In addition to Gilmore's arrest, the authorities indicated that they were actively searching for other potential suspects who may have been involved in the incident. The area where Licano's body was found was cordoned off as investigators conducted a thorough search for evidence and any additional individuals connected to the crime.
Another individual, 27-year-old Adrian Jordan of Globe, was also implicated in connection with the fatal shooting. Jordan faced legal consequences for his involvement and was sentenced to serve eight years in prison for misconduct involving weapons. Furthermore, he is awaiting a separate trial on a manslaughter charge related to Jonathan Licano's death. While arrests have been made, the Miami Police Department has stated their commitment to continuing the investigation until all responsible parties are apprehended.
