On August 28, 2022, a tragic incident occurred in north Phoenix, Arizona, resulting in the deaths of two civilians, including 44-year-old Karla Garzona. The incident began when a man, later identified as 24-year-old Isaiah Steven Williams, exited a hotel near 27th Avenue and Deer Valley Road. Williams was armed with a semi-automatic rifle and wore tactical gear, including a ballistic vest, helmet, gas mask, and knee pads.
