On September 22, 2022, Brent Roosevelt Hester was fatally shot at a construction site in Bisbee, Arizona. The incident occurred at the old Bisbee High School, which was being converted into apartments. Hester, who was a site supervisor, was killed by Matthew C. Gistinger, a 26-year-old former employee who had been fired from his job the day before the shooting.
