In the autumn of 2022, a wave of violence shattered the peace of a Chandler, Arizona, community, leading to the untimely death of 19-year-old Jesus Adolfo Tenorio. A young Hispanic man, Tenorio's life was abruptly cut short on November 9, 2022, in a double shooting that also claimed the life of a 17-year-old girl. The tragic events unfolded in the afternoon at a housing complex located near Pecos Road and Arizona Avenue.
Reports of gunfire drew law enforcement to the scene at
approximately 2:40 p.m. There, they discovered two victims with gunshot wounds. Jesus Tenorio was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, a teenage girl, was gravely injured and succumbed to her injuries days later on November 17. The violence of that day was not contained to the initial shooting.
Following the incident, two suspects were identified. One was named as Kory William Sandusky Jr., while the other individual was not immediately named. In a desperate attempt to evade capture, the suspects forced their way into another nearby residence, where they assaulted the homeowner. Their flight from the law was short-lived, however, as they were soon apprehended by authorities. Sandusky was subsequently charged with multiple offenses, including aggravated assault and burglary, with homicide charges also pending. The community was left to mourn the senseless loss of two young lives.
