On a Sunday evening in Washington, D.C., the life of 14-year-old Said Yassir Abdur-Raqib was tragically cut short. On March 21, 1999, the young male was discovered in his residence in the 700 block of Somerset Place, NW. He was found unconscious, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency services transported him to a local hospital, but his injury proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at 8:31 p.m.
