This new responsibility, however, appears to have placed him in the path of a volatile neighbor with whom he had a history of disputes.

afternoon, a neighbor heard a loud bang and walked outside to find Bevington had been shot in the head. The incident unfolded in a chaotic scene, leaving neighbors shaken and mourning the loss of a man they considered a guardian angel. Bevington was not just a property manager but a beloved member of the community, often visiting with neighbors alongside his partner, Gaye.
The man arrested in connection with the shooting was his 73-year-old neighbor, William Porter. According to court documents, Porter had allegedly been planning the shooting for several weeks and chose that particular Sunday to act. The motive appears to be rooted in an ongoing dispute with Bevington, which was further inflamed when Porter received an eviction notice. Neighbors had reportedly warned the management about Porter's behavior on multiple occasions in the past.
