Police Officer Zane Coolidge, a 29-year-old five-year veteran of the Phoenix Police Department, died on September 6, 2024, due to injuries sustained in a shooting that occurred on September 3, 2024. Coolidge and his partner, Officer Matthew Haney, were responding to a report of a car break-in near 16th and Brill streets when they encountered the suspect, Saul Bal.
