In the spring of 2022, the life of 22-year-old Eltio Maurice Plater Jr. was cut short in Omaha, Nebraska. On the night of Sunday, April 17, 2022, Plater was the victim of a shooting near 60th and Taylor Streets. Following the incident, he was privately transported to Immanuel Hospital before being transferred to CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
