On December 17, 2003, Jovani Jefferson was shot and killed near the corner of 51st Street and Call Place SE in Washington, D.C. The incident occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. According to reports, Jovani Jefferson was struck by a bullet in his lower back and collapsed after attempting to flee.
