On September 13, 2019, Dwayne Britt, a 24-year-old African-American male from Wilmington, Delaware, was fatally shot in the West Center City neighborhood of Wilmington. The incident occurred at approximately 10:34 a.m. near the intersection of 5th and Monroe Streets.
