Jawaun Shockley, a 28-year-old Black/African American man, was shot on the night of July 26, 2021, in Wilmington, Delaware. Police were called to the area of 24th and Jessup Streets around 10 p.m., where they found Shockley suffering from gunshot wounds; he was taken to a hospital and later died. A 22-year-old man wounded in the same incident arrived at the hospital in stable condition. His death fell during a violent span of shootings in the city that left multiple people dead that night.
