Lerrie Tate, 44, a Black male, was fatally shot on the afternoon of December 1, 2022, in Wilmington, Delaware. Officers were dispatched just after 2 p.m. to the 1000 block of North Madison Street, where they found Tate critically wounded; he was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. The shooting occurred inside a first-floor apartment during what was described as a home-invasion burglary, in the Trinity Vicinity neighborhood near 10th and Madison.
