On October 25, 2004, in Anson, Maine, 32-year-old Wayne Crowley was fatally shot in the head while visiting the home of his friend, 42-year-old Gary Watland. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Crowley was initially transported to Redington-Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan and later transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where he remained on life support until his death later that day.
