On March 19, 2006, 15-year-old Joshua J. Sawyer of Pittsfield, Maine, died unexpectedly in Norridgewock. Born on May 21, 1990, in Skowhegan to Richelle Lawn and Timothy Sawyer, Joshua was a sophomore at Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield, where he actively participated in basketball, football, and track. He was known for his love of snowmobiling, four-wheeling, and his ability to make others laugh, often by wearing quirky hats.
