On the morning of November 29, 2011, in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, 53-year-old Udo Schneider was fatally shot outside the Hilltop Manor nursing home, where he had been a dedicated maintenance worker for over 11 years. The assailant, Michael Curtis, 46, of Sangerville, was a dispatcher for the Piscataquis County Sheriff's Department. Witnesses reported that Curtis approached Schneider, confirmed his identity, and then shot him multiple times in front of several people.
