On July 26, 2014, in Saco, Maine, a tragic incident occurred in which 4-year-old Lily Anne Smith was killed along with her family. Her father, 33-year-old Joel Smith, fatally shot his wife, 35-year-old Heather Smith, and their three children—12-year-old Jason Montez, 7-year-old Noah Montez, and Lily—before taking his own life.
