On July 26, 2014, in Saco, Maine, 35-year-old Heather Marie Montez Smith was tragically killed alongside her three children—Jason Alexander Montez, 12; Noah Nathanial Montez, 7; and Lily Anne Smith, 4—in a murder-suicide perpetrated by her husband, 33-year-old Joel Smith.
