On October 22, 2019, in Waterville, Maine, 29-year-old Melissa Sousa was last seen escorting her twin 8-year-old daughters to the school bus near their residence. When she failed to appear at her workplace, concerned friends reported her missing. The following day, investigators discovered her body in the basement of the home she shared with her longtime boyfriend, Nicholas Lovejoy, and their children. Her remains were concealed under a tarp.
