The events of May 21, 2022, unfolded at a family home where a dispute escalated into violence. The argument reportedly began between Octavia's uncle, 19-year-old Andrew Huber-Young, and her father, Ethan Huber-Young, over a t-shirt.
This seemingly minor disagreement set off a chain of events that would have devastating consequences.
Following the initial argument, Andrew Huber-Young left the residence but allegedly returned later that day. He is accused of firing a handgun through a locked glass door of the home. At that moment, Octavia was in the arms of her father. The gunfire struck the young girl, her father, and her grandfather.
