On August 9, 1949, tragedy struck in Butte, Montana, when 39-year-old Sue Ella Horn was murdered. Her body was discovered in her apartment at 117 East Broadway Street. She had been brutally beaten and strangled to death.

The crime shocked the community, and police launched an intensive investigation. Despite their efforts, the case went unsolved for many years. It wasn't until decades later that advancements in DNA technology allowed investigators to re-examine the evidence.
