Steve Mitchell Hale, 61, was one of three victims in a fatal shooting at the Emerald City Casino in Great Falls, Montana on December 17, 2019. The incident occurred in the early morning hours.

Authorities quickly identified Ricky Lee Gardipee as the suspect. Gardipee had a lengthy criminal record and was already wanted by law enforcement. He was located by U.S. Marshals later that same day and was killed in a confrontation with officers.
