Tricia Lynn Demotts, a 62-year-old resident of Bigfork, Montana, was found dead in her home on October 28, 2022, along with her partner, 65-year-old Stanley Allen Grotberg. Both victims had suffered gunshot wounds to the head.

Their deaths were quickly ruled as homicides by the Flathead County Sheriff's Office. A man named Derrick James Jackson, who reportedly lived with Demotts and Grotberg, was identified as a person of interest early in the investigation.
