On September 2, 2003, in Bellevue, Idaho, 52-year-old Diane Johnson was fatally shot while sleeping in her bed. Her husband, Alan Johnson, was also killed that morning, shot twice in the chest as he emerged from the shower. Their 16-year-old daughter, Sarah Marie Johnson, was present in the home at the time of the murders.
