On July 14, 2018, in Las Vegas, Nevada, 32-year-old Cheri Louise Anaya was found deceased in her residence from a gunshot wound to the head. Her twin 9-year-old daughters discovered her body and contacted authorities. Investigations identified her ex-boyfriend, 41-year-old Christopher Gerard Caggiano, a Nevada Department of Corrections officer, as the primary suspect. Caggiano had fled the scene prior to police arrival.
