In the quiet, rural setting of New Plymouth, Idaho, the morning of May 15, 2022, was shattered by violence. Inside a home located at 550 Ada Road, 45-year-old Eric Ortega was found deceased. He was not alone; alongside him was Megan Amaya, also 45 years old. Both had been shot, and their deaths were quickly determined to be the result of a double homicide.
