On May 15, 2022, in New Plymouth, Idaho, a tragic incident occurred at 550 Ada Road, where Eric Ortega and Megan Amaya, both 45 years old, were found deceased inside a residence. The Payette County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting early that morning and, upon arrival, discovered the two victims. The case was immediately treated as a double homicide, and the Idaho State Police were called in to assist with the investigation.
