John Goodwin, a 75-year-old piano teacher from Atkinson, New Hampshire, died on April 24, 2015, after shooting himself outside the Rockingham County Superior Courthouse in Brentwood. Goodwin was on trial for six counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault, accused of repeatedly abusing a former student between 2002 and 2005, starting when the boy was 11 years old.
