On a late spring evening in Littleton, New Hampshire, the life of a young white male named Robert Pierog was tragically cut short. On May 27, 2016, the 22-year-old was found outside an apartment building on West Main Street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police had responded to an emergency call at approximately 10:30 p.m. and discovered Pierog, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The subsequent autopsy confirmed that the cause of his death was the multiple gunshots and the manner of his death was officially ruled a homicide.
The investigation into Pierog's murder quickly led to the identification and arrest of three individuals. Damion Yeargle, 21, of Littleton, was charged with first-degree murder for allegedly shooting Pierog multiple times. Also arrested was 18-year-old Quade Kadle of Jefferson, who faced a charge of accomplice to first-degree murder. A third suspect, 21-year-old Nick Skidmore of Littleton, was later taken into custody and charged with conspiracy to commit murder and hindering apprehension or prosecution.
As the legal proceedings unfolded, it was revealed that the motive behind the killing was retaliation for Pierog's cooperation with law enforcement as a confidential informant. In May 2016, Kadle, Yeargle, and Skidmore conspired to murder Pierog. On the night of the incident, the three men drove to Pierog's apartment where Yeargle carried out the shooting. Quade Kadle later pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit witness tampering for his role in the crime.
