On December 14, 2022, 49-year-old Israel Jimenez Lugo was found deceased in his residence at 78 Hastings Street in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. Responding to a welfare check request around 9:45 a.m., police discovered Lugo's body inside the apartment. An autopsy determined that he died from a gunshot wound to the torso, and his death was ruled a homicide.
