On September 26, 2017, in Lennox, South Dakota, authorities discovered the bodies of 38-year-old Rob Hoover, his 8-year-old son Zachary, and his wife, 35-year-old Stephanie Hoover, in their home. Evidence at the scene, including a handgun and multiple gunshot wounds, led investigators to suspect a murder-suicide, with Stephanie believed to have fatally shot her husband and son before taking her own life.
