In the early afternoon of a Sunday in Washington, D.C., a simple act of walking home with a pizza turned into a fatal encounter for Domingo Reyes. On March 19, 2006, the 42-year-old man was approached by a gunman in the 1300 block of Randolph Street NW. The assailant demanded Reyes's pizza and other belongings in what began as a street robbery.
