Heather Hockenbary, 42, a woman from Spearfish, South Dakota, was shot and killed on August 17, 2018. Investigators soon determined the killing occurred at the hands of her husband, Scott Hockenbary, and classified the case as a murder-suicide. Five days after Heather’s death, Scott died by suicide, bringing the investigation into a tragic focus.
