An African-American man, 37-year-old Montrell Glover, died on the night of April 9, 2017, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, following a violent encounter that ended in a car crash. The events leading to his death began to unfold around 11:30 p.m. when Milwaukee police were dispatched to a residence near 80th and Beckett Avenue for a report of a battery. Upon their arrival, they found the residence empty.
At approximately the same time, another call directed officers to the scene of an accident at
71st and Capitol Drive. There, they discovered Montrell Glover, the driver of the vehicle, being treated by the Milwaukee Fire Department for a serious stab wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
As the investigation progressed, police were able to connect the initial battery call to the car crash and Glover's subsequent death. Their investigation quickly led them to a suspect at another nearby residence. A 30-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing. Following her arrest, the case was set to be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for review and the formalization of charges.
