On April 6, 2019, Lucas Lynn Smith, a 24-year-old resident of Yankton, South Dakota, was fatally shot following an altercation at Mojo's bar in downtown Yankton. The incident began with a physical confrontation involving Smith, Jameson Mitchell, and a third individual inside the bar. After being removed by employees, the dispute continued verbally outside.
