Lucas Lynn Smith, a 24-year-old Caucasian male from Yankton, South Dakota, died on his birthday, April 6, 2019, following a violent altercation. The fatal incident began inside Mojo's Pizza and Spirits in downtown Yankton, where Smith was involved in a physical confrontation with Jameson Mitchell and another individual. After the group was removed from the establishment, the conflict continued verbally in the street and then moved to a nearby alley.
