In the early morning hours of Sunday, September 24, 2023, the life of 20-year-old Timmothy Headdy-Tittle, a Caucasian male, was tragically cut short in Yankton, South Dakota. He was a recent graduate of Yankton High School and was working as a bartender and entrepreneur. Described as a fun-loving, happy, and adventurous individual, he was known for his willingness to help anyone. His interests were varied and active, including fishing, hiking, camping, and more recently, UFC training and ghost hunting.

On that Sunday, at approximately 6 a.m., law enforcement was called to the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital's emergency room where a young man had been brought in with a gunshot wound. Despite medical efforts, Timmothy Headdy-Tittle succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The subsequent investigation led officers to a residence in the 1900 block of Locust Street, which they secured as the likely location of the incident.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting quickly identified a suspect. Cody James Auch, also 20 years old, was arrested in connection with the death. He was subsequently charged with First Degree Manslaughter and reckless discharge of a firearm, as well as possession of a loaded firearm while intoxicated. The case is being investigated by the Yankton Police Department with the assistance of the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation and the Yankton County Sheriff's Office.
