On June 19, 1901, Deputy Sheriff Charles Benjamin Holden, White male, age 30, of the Uinta County Sheriff's Office in Evanston, Wyoming, was shot and killed by a man who was wanted for check forgery. Contemporary memorial records list the cause of death as gunfire by handgun and record his end of watch as Wednesday, June 19, 1901.
