In the predawn hours of October 6, 2019, Rock Springs police were dispatched to the neighborhood around Polk Street and Monroe Drive for a domestic disturbance.
As officers arrived at about 4:35 a.m., a gunshot sounded. They entered to find a 48-year-old male deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators described the death as an apparent suicide and continued their inquiry, while emphasizing there was no immediate public threat tied to the call.
