On July 15, 1978, in Rock Springs, Wyoming, Patrolman Michael Angel Rosa, a 29-year-old undercover narcotics officer, was fatally shot by the city's Director of Safety, Ed Cantrell. The incident occurred in an unmarked police vehicle outside the Silver Dollar Bar, where Cantrell and Rosa engaged in a heated argument.
