In June 2021, authorities intensified their investigation into the 2017 disappearance of Vanessa "Nessy" Orren, a 61-year-old woman from LaBarge, Wyoming. On June 19, law enforcement agencies, including the Sublette County Sheriff's Office, the FBI, and other state and federal entities, executed a search warrant on the property of Darrell "Pete" Petry, a 66-year-old trapper residing near the Sublette-Lincoln county line.
