On October 25, 2023, 59-year-old woman Sandra Kay Bellah from Hudson, Wyoming, was found dead near the Johnny Behind the Rocks trail system off Highway 287 outside Lander in Fremont County. The discovery began with concern over a vehicle that had been sitting in the trailhead parking area, parked up against the rails and apparently untouched for several days.
