On the evening of November 10, 2019, 19-year-old Matthew Steven York was fatally shot in an alley behind a convenience store in Williston, North Dakota. The incident also left his friend, 19-year-old Parker Haider, critically injured. Authorities responded to reports of gunshots in the area between Cash Wise Foods and the Highland Manor Apartments. A 17-year-old male suspect was apprehended around 4 a.m. the following morning and was initially held on possible murder charges.
