In the small town of Plantersville, Alabama, a sense of duty cost a man his life on April 3, 1893. James Harris, a Special Deputy Sheriff, was tasked with serving a warrant on an individual named Shelton. While attempting to carry out his sworn responsibility, Deputy Harris was met with violence.
