Death by Force

On January 25, 1917, Acting Sheriff Andrew Marvin Mulder, aged 35, of the Elmore County Sheriff's Office in Alabama, was fatally shot while attempting to arrest a suspect. The individual had barricaded himself inside a house and opened fire on Mulder during the arrest attempt. The suspect was apprehended at the scene and subsequently charged with murder.
