In the early morning hours of December 19, 1987, the community of Ozark, Alabama, was shattered by a sudden burst of violence that claimed the lives of two of its police officers. John Drew Seifert, a 57-year-old male officer with 12 years of service on the force, was one of the victims. He and his partner were responding to a report of a domestic disturbance, a call that is often unpredictable and fraught with danger for law enforcement.
