Police Officer John Drew Seifert, aged 57 at the time of his death, served with the Ozark Police Department in Alabama for 12 years. He lost his life on December 19, 1987, while responding to a domestic dispute between two neighbors.
Officer Seifert and his colleague, Police Officer Charles Alcuri, were shot and killed during this incident. The suspect, after murdering the officers, took his own life using Officer Seifert's service weapon.
