On June 7, 2003, in Fayette, Alabama, Corporal James Eddie Crump, aged 40, was fatally shot while performing his duties at the Fayette Police Department. During the early morning hours, Corporal Crump and Officer Arnold Strickland were processing an 18-year-old suspect arrested for operating a stolen vehicle.
